On average, I make at least $20-25/hour driving. How? I try to drive when the companies are offering streaks, bonuses, and opportunities. These can really boost your earnings! There are many different kinds of bonuses available to you. Keep in mind that they change weekly.
Lyft offers streak bonuses that boost your earnings once you complete three consecutive rides. For example, an $18 3-ride streak bonus means that once your complete three consecutive rides, you will get an additional $18 ON TOP OF the earnings for the three rides. This could easily boost your earnings well over $25/hour. Streak bonuses are perfect for part-time drivers like me – especially when there are multiple streaks during the day. I hop in the car, turn on the app, and in 3 or 4 hours, I’ve made well over $100.
Sometimes Lyft offers weekend bonuses and total ride bonuses. In each case, you get a bonus for completing a total number of rides during a specific period.
Uber’s model is a bit different but still solid. I love Uber’s new ride “boosts.” During specific times, Uber will add a dollar amount to each ride! I have seen ride bonuses up to $6 per ride? Remember, this is in addition to the ride itself!
Uber also offers “quests” which gives you a nice bonus for completing a total number of during a specific period – usually during the week or during the weekend. For part-time drivers like myself, the quests are tough. Full-time drivers should not have a problem though.
